Man arrested after 2 dead found in Coldstream home – Vernon News

UPDATE: 4:43 p.m.

An arrest has been made after two bodies were found in a Coldstream home Tuesday.

On Jan. 17, at 5:32 a.m., Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the 8500 block of Clerke Road.

Upon arrival, police discovered two bodies in the home, as well as a man suffering from potentially life-threatening injuries. A fourth man at the scene was taken into custody.

The injured man was taken to a local-area hospital for medical treatment. The deaths are deemed to be suspicious and RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

β€œThe initial investigation leads us to believe that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public,” said Staff Sgt. Kris Clark.

Police are also aware of a vehicle that was discovered burning on Francis Road in the BX area surrounding Vernon.

Police said at this time, no link has been established between the two events but the investigation is in its infancy and investigators will be looking at all avenues.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit information line at 1-877-987-8477.

UPDATE: 9:30 a.m.

Police tape surrounds a home at Kal View Estates trailer park following a police incident this morning.

The RCMP’s Emergency Response Team and local officers surrounded a home in the park, but have to say what prompted the action.

The urgency appears to have subsided, but some police remain at the scene.

A side window of the home is smashed.

A neighbour just a few doors down says she woke up to see “about 25 police cars with the SWAT team and everything” in front of her home.

The woman says she was told to “get back inside” by officers.

The neighbour said she “doesn’t want any part of what’s going on over there.”
