Congressman August Pfluger was part of a delegation of Texas Republicans that sent a letter to President Biden urging assistance at the southern border and reimbursement for Texas dollars spent on Operation Lone Star, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The letter is also signed by every member of the Republican Texas delegation, Reps. Dan Crenshaw, Brian Babin, Nathaniel Moran, Michael T. McCaul, Beth Van Duyne, Lance Gooden, Keith Self, Monica De La Cruz, Pete Sessions, Morgan Luttrell, Jake Ellzey, Ronny L. Jackson, Michael C. Burgess, M.D., Michael Cloud, Randy K. Weber, Sr., Roger Williams, Kay Granger, Wesley Hunt, John R. Carter, and Troy E. Nehls, the press release states.

“We urge you (President Biden) to work with the Texas Delegation to pay Texas back for the resources expended throughout Operation Lone Star, and we urge you to work with us to stop the flow of illegal migration at the southern border. Further, we also request a meeting with you to discuss the border crisis and the solutions proposed by Members of the Texas Delegation to put an end to this crisis,” The members wrote.

The Texas Republicans wrote that the state of the southern border is due to the Biden administration’s failed policies.

For the last two years, the members of the delegation wrote, the state of Texas has been forced to take unprecedented steps to address the southern border. Gov. Greg Abbott started Operation Lone Star in March 2021.
