Don’t get us wrong, we love a good gelato spot or after-dinner treat to satisfy our sweet cravings, but there’s something special about seeking out a dessert-focused cafe. The dim lighting, the decadent desserts, the art-lined walls. It all comes together to form the perfect dining experience. And while Vancouver might not have the longest list of spots serving exclusively dessert – we’ve rounded up the handful that caught our eye.
Without further ado, here are 8 dessert cafes to check out in Vancouver when you’re craving something sweet.
Aphrodite’s Organic Pie Shop
A staple spot for homemade pies in Kitsilano, Aphrodite’s has become a quintessential visit for any dessert lover. From Blackberry Apple to vegan Chocolate Cream Pie – there are plenty of tasty options to choose from. And each pie can be made with a gluten-free crust for $6! Our suggestion? Grab a slice along with a mug of their homemade chai to wash it down.

Pistachio Sweetery Cafe
We’re including this newer pick even though they offer savoury options as well. Pistachio Sweetery Cafe has garnered a rep for having some of the best cheesecake in the city – which means its spot on this list is definitely earned.
The dessert-focused cafe is 100% halal and has a plethora of Middle Eastern pastries and sweets to choose from – including authentic kunafa and baklava. And since pistachios are a staple product of the region, you’ll likely have no trouble remembering the name. Oh, and don’t sleep on their weekly Arabian Music Nights!
